The Week That Was...24//2//13
1. hot from the oven, homemade apple crumble and custard.
2. Tiger tied Sam up during our morning walk...it took us a while to untangle, and I'm sure our neighbours enjoyed the spectacle.
3. Peek-a-boo!
4 & 5. we baked Em's delicious Key Lime Pie (with a little lemon for some extra citrus kick!) While it was cooling on the bench, a little ginger monster decided it was her treat.
In the end, the kitten-bits were trimmed away, and we were insanely happy...Em, this recipe is the shit!
6. Slowly, slowly. I've been teaching myself to knit over the past couple of months, and although still trying to master tension and purl (is it just me that finds this difficult?!) I'm enjoying every moment of it. Creating something special for another is my favourite pasttime.
7. Sam & our dear friend Ayden entertaining the crowds at a little bar in the city - listening to her sing may just be the most wonderful experience of my life.
8. There's so many things wrong with this image: #1 Quinn snuck outside, and was playing in the courtyard unattended for God knows how long! #2 Quinn is in the pot plants! #3 Quinn is eating the lemongrass...which has taken sooo unbelievably long to grow to this point! #4 I'm standing around taking photos when I should be disciplining her!
9. Today we made citrus-syrup for flavoured soda waters (recipe to come!) - Sam & Quinn thought it funny to photobomb my shoot...they are super cute!

The Week That Was...3//2//13
1&2. we jumped in the car for a spontaneous country drive, to witness this stunning sunset
3. beautiful bright flowers, from my love
4. sneaky little photobombers - more images to come
5. we finally discovered a pine tree farm, south of Ravensbourne National Park (where we will harvest our first pine tree this Christmas!)
6. Tig, enjoying the ridiculously long grass in our yard
7. this is where we have spent much of our week - on the road. We've woken at the crack of dawn each day, visited Crows Nest, Woodford, Greenmount and Caboolture, and
photograph #1 by Sam

Under the Weather
We're feeling low and lethargic, here on the mountain top - there's coughing, sore throats and upset bellies.
Sam has taken it harder than I; even this mornings quick trip to the grocer for veggies and Butter Menthol's* has drained her energy and sent her back to slumber. I despise seeing her in pain, more so when I feel utterly useless, due to my own aching body, unable to even lift my hands to rub her back.
Although it's bright and warm outside, we've quarantined ourselves to the bedroom for lots of rest, recuperation, and Friends reruns. Soup is on the stove and jugs of ice water and lemon balm tea by the bedside. The windows have been flung open, willing fresh Spring air to clear away our ills.
Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't slow down with you when you're feeling 'off'. There's still dishes to wash, clothes to hang, floors to sweep...and (my least favourite) uni study to be done.
Maybe I'll leave it for tomorrow...
I hope all is well in your corner of the world,
x
PS. Over at The Beetle Shack, Em is having ANOTHER of her delightful giveaways! Bless her!
I think all those goodies would help pep us up! Imagine soaking up sweet sunshine (& some good ol' Vit D!) whilst relaxing in that gorgeous hammock! *sigh*
GOOD LUCK
* I know they're super bad for you, but that warm honey flavour on a scratchy throat brings back memories of curling up on Mama's lap as a child and eating home-made chicken soup. I'm feeling better already.

Bits and Pieces
Following on from my previous post I realised I am already making some changes (as vain and materialistic as it may be!) - I have a new hair colour! I dyed it a shade of burgundy earlier in the year, and I loved it (minus the fading), but a couple of days ago I realised I needed a change!
Back to my 'natural' colour, black, or as black as it would go, as some of the red still shows through in the sunlight.
It has made me feel a little fresher and more polished, as well as being a lot easier to style with my wardrobe (red and red often looks strange!)
It's vain, I know it! But what do you think?
I'm embracing change!
P.S head over here for another Sole Society/The Beetle Shack giveaway! This time Sole Society are giving away 2 pairs! of their amazing shoes to one very lucky reader!
New shoes would really change my day! Good Luck!! x
