1. my favourite pup and warm wool socks
2. the thick fog...we couldn't see our neighbours, just 10 meters across the street
3. gumboots - ready and waiting by the door
4. an Australia Day tribute - it was wet and windy, but we couldn't resist the opportunity to dance in the rain!
5. rain brings new growth
6. her newest resting place - the middle of the coffee table
7. blown here by the wind - its golden hue, against the grey outside, made me smile
8. how I spent much of the weekend - snuggled up in bed, watching ex-tropical cyclone Oswald wreak havoc outside our window...and secretly wishing for sunny Summer days.

----------------------------------------------------------
Last week was particularly tough on our family.
The wet weather left us all a little 'under the weather' (pun intended), particularly for our poor pooch *. We bunkered down in the ferocious winds and pouring rain - lighting candles during the blackouts and pulling out the winter woollens. I'd even taken up knitting to wile away the hours.
Today we awoke to a bright blue sky and fluffy white clouds. We wore sun-dresses (read: I wore the dress, Sam wore shorts - she would want me to point that out) and went for a walk to stretch ours and Tig's legs. Windows were flung open to let the gentle breeze air out the house, and the cats spent the afternoon lazing about in the golden sunshine.
Although the storms have passed us here, we are still aware of the destruction and loss that has occurred, and will unfortunately continue. We are reminded of what an incredible land we live in - as my father recently put it:
My father's comments aside, we're praying you and your family are safe and healthy during this wild weather, right across this amazing globe - through the rain, wind, fire, snow, drought and heat-waves.

ahh Australia...ya gotta love this country...One end of Ozz is as dry as a dead dingos donga in the desert and burning like the flames of hell .. whilst the other end is drowning under the weight of a not quite Biblical proportioned flood...Talk about a land of extremes...

*I wrote a little about Tiger's past here, causing her fear of rain and stormy weather.
while the rain has been great for the veggies, it was a bit of an overkill to have to rug up in January! Glad the sun is back for you, too. Have a great week :)sarah
