1. after all that rain in the recent weeks, our house was left damp and musty - so a mini january 'spring' clean has occured. The windows are flung open, the linen laundered, the floors scrubbed, and rooms have been rearranged. with plenty of reading materials and a small collection of paintings and prints - our entryway - is my new favourite nook.

3&4. my second home-made loaf this week; a whole-wheat loaf spiked with Linseed, Sunflower Seed & Almond meal. I'm hooked on baking our own!
5. an inqusitive look...or just plain crazy
6. new blooms
7. old facades, downtown Toowoomba
8. fresh passionfruit from this mornings farmers market - the perfect flavour for a batch of melting moments cookies
9. just a fraction of the delicious produce that made its way home with us from market - watercress, beetroot, corn. (can you believe we buy all our fruit and vege for a week for less than $20!?)
10. beautiful 'London' souvenir spoon with my piccolo
11. me + coffee = bliss!
...and to finish the weekend off...NB. if you are sensitive to rude gestures, avert your eyes...
12. this is all I got from Sam when I pulled out the camera at lunch - I'm going to put it down to the lack of morning coffee. Ooops!

DeleteWishing you all a great week too!

my mouth actually watered when I looked at the passionfruit picture. YUM. They're $48 a kilo here (for organic; non-organic's probably cheaper) so they're out of our budget...but I think late autumn they get down to $19 ish. can't wait!
ReplyDeleteps. I could have a similar reaction if a photo was taken of me before morning coffee. Not a big morning gal either! x
our local markets are quite reasonable for organic produce, though we are pretty frugal at the moment, so we often haggle prices (we're fortunate to have friendly and generous producers) - I only bought 4, so they will be savoured!
DeleteSam is not a morning person at all - I often wake her with a coffee in hand!

If I pulled out a camera before coffe I would get the same reaction !
ReplyDeleteLove a good souvenir spoon with my coffe.
Have a great week, Dee
Thank you, Dee!

Yay for bread making. I want to make my own and stop buying it all together.
ReplyDeleteWhat brand bread flour do you use? and what recipe?
x
I'm loving baking bread - I can't believe I didn't try it sooner. I honestly can't see us buying bread again. You know what you're putting in it and can tailor it to your taste. It makes sense to make it yourself.
DeleteI've been experimenting with different flours - both bread and regular, plus different grains etc, and baking in the bread maker and the oven.
I use this flour for all my baking so I'm just going to stick with it for bread too I don't see much difference between the bread flours and regular. So far I've found this recipe to be very rewarding, although a lot of my initial experimenting involved googling recipes, trying them and tweaking it to my liking.
I've just baked a couple foccacia loaves this morning - so keep a look out for that recipe in the coming weeks!
Happy baking!
